Here’s a brand new “Tamara Drewe” junket interview where Gemma discusses who she would love to play in a biopic – it would be great to see her singing ability in a role like this, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that a rockstar role heads her way soon!
Gemma Arterton has played a sultry Bond Girl and several English roses, but now she has set her sights on an altogether different role.
The actress, who can currently been seen in the title role in the new Stephen Frears film Tamara Drewe, has revealed she would like to play legendary musician Kate Bush.
Gemma is a big fan of the Wuthering Heights singer, but is not quite ready to make a biopic about her yet:
“I just think it’s weird playing someone who’s still alive … I love Kate Bush and I reckon I could do a good Kate Bush impression but she’s still alive – good!”
Her Tamara Drewe co-star Dominic Cooper is unlikely to encounter such stumbling blocks when realising his ambitions.
“I’d love to do Freddie Mercury next – or Michael Hutchence. Such good fun and they are such great characters to do.”
Yahoo has released the U.S. trailer for “Tamara Drewe” which you can watch below! HD captures are also available in the gallery. The movie will be having its North American premiere in just a few days at TIFF with Gemma expected to attend. Can’t wait!

* How she knew J. could make a movie with three actors and two locations visually interesting

* Whether or not she figured out some sort of backstory from before Alice’s kidnapping
* Whether she’s seen the movie with an audience
* The response the movie has gotten since the Toronto Film Festival
